Ritratto di Ivan Fedele

Ritratto di Ivan Fedele

The PMCE, under the direction of Tonino Battista, pays homage to Ivan Fedele through 2 offerings: Thanatòseros, a lyrical piece for soprano, tenor and ensemble inspired by the “Combat of Tancredi and Chlorinda” from Torquato Tasso’s “Liberated Jerusalem”, as well as Samuel Beckett’s radio play Words and Music. In the first piece, Fedele reflects on the relationship between love and death by creating a dramatic space of enormous tension through his construction of dialogue, his treatment of voice and an energetic instrumental support. In the Beckett’s piece he investigates the relationship between word and music, with actors Nicholas Hunt and Anthony Souter in dialogue with the ensemble.
