Set in the heart of a prestigious jazz school in New York, this story unfolds with relentless ambition and uncompromising challenges. Damien Chazelle’s masterpiece comes to life on the big screen, accompanied by the stunning score of Justin Hurwitz, performed live. The Multiquarium Big Band, led by Benoît Sourisse and André Charlier, will play in perfect sync with the film, creating a unique experience. Like Andrew, the young drummer portrayed by Miles Teller, who strives for perfection under the unyielding critiques of his teacher Fletcher (J.K. Simmons), André Charlier will face the challenge of following every movement of the conductor’s baton with absolute precision, taking the art of cinema-concert to new heights.
The Multiquarium Big Band is a musical ensemble that combines some of the most talented contemporary jazz musicians. With a sound that blends the classic and the modern, the band is known for its energetic and precise performances, characterized by a high level of interaction between its members. Under Benoît Sourisse’s and André Charlier’s direction, the Multiquarium Big Band has established a unique identity in the European big band scene, pushing jazz toward new sonic explorations.
