Flammenwerfer

FLAMMENWERFER is the latest music theatre production by Hotel Pro Forma, directed by Kirsten Dehlholm and Marie Dahl, featuring original music and text by Blixa Bargeld—performed live—and a selection of compositions from earlier releases by Nils Frahm. Inspired by the life of Swedish painter Carl Fredrik Hill (1849-1911), the performance explores his years of isolation in Lund, where, diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia, he created over 4,000 works, some of which are now housed at the Malmö Konstmuseum. On stage, Blixa Bargeld performs alongside the vocal ensemble IKI, while Frahm’s music blends with vocal compositions by Marie Dahl and sound design by Erik Medeiros. Costumes and set design are created by fashion designer and artist Henrik Vibskov, lighting design by Jesper Kongshaug and projections by Magnus Pind – all three long-time collaborators of Hotel Pro Forma. Co-produced with Malmö Live Concert Hall in collaboration with Malmö Konstmuseum, FLAMMENWERFER transforms the stage into an immersive experience where music, visual arts, and theatre converge.
