Buchettino

Buchettino returns to the Romaeuropa Festival—an iconic production first created in 1995 within Societas Raffaello Sanzio (now Societas) that has since become an authentic cult piece of international theater, captivating generations of children across Europe, the United States, Chile, Japan, and beyond. Set in a large, dimly lit wooden bedroom, the performance invites young spectators to lie in small beds and immerse themselves in a fairy tale that gradually comes to life through sound. Voices, noises, and whispers transform the space into a tangible, mysterious world—where distant footsteps rustle, doors creak, and the narrator’s voice seems to mold and shape sounds from a faraway realm. Live sound effects, produced by actors outside the room, bring the story’s characters to life: Buchettino, his siblings, their parents, and the fearsome ogre. The bedroom becomes a vast resonating chamber, a place where the boundary between dream and reality blurs, allowing imagination to take shape and fantasy to become real for a moment.
