Matteo Sedda

Fuck me blind

Matteo Sedda, winner of DNAppunti Coreografici 2024, presents FUCK ME BLIND, a duet where the performers are connected through a shared central point of movement. Inspired by Derek Jarman’s film Blue, the performance addresses the theme of invisibility. Jarman, ill with AIDS and facing death, created a film with a single frame of International Klein Blue, accompanied by a psychedelic soundtrack that induces a hypnotic effect. Sedda’s choreography draws from these elements to create a similar sensory experience. The two dancers, rotating together, form a continuous flow that traces the space around them. Their movements are inspired by ballroom and folk dances, such as tango and waltz, with a contemporary twist exploring the relationship between attraction and distance. Eros and Thanatos become the core of the movement, while the dance makes the bodies visible and breaks the cycle of death and invisibility.

Matteo Sedda is a choreographer and performer. In 2024, he choreographed and performed in FUCK ME BLIND and Passages by Aïda Gabriëls/Oester, and worked as choreographer and dancer for the concert performance Bodybodybodybody by Dag Taeldeman and Andrew Van Ostade. He performed in KARRASEKARE by IgorxMoreno and co-created NeverStopScrollingBaby with VITAMINA. Between 2022 and 2023, he continued collaborating in various performances and choreographies with international artists. In 2020, he was a guest at BOZAR for the conference POSITIVE EXPRESSIONS: ART, HIV AND I and participated in the ATLAS VIRTUAL TALKSHOW IN DE BALIE. He worked as director, choreographer, and performer for the solo POZ! and danced in The Generosity of Dorcas by Jan Fabre, while also performing in CORPUS HOMINIS by Enzo Cosimi. He has had long-term collaborations with artists such as Jan Fabre and Enzo Cosimi. From 2016 to 2023, he participated in various workshops with masters such as Robert Wilson, Peter Brook, Theodoros Terzopoulos, and Steven Cohen, and studied contemporary dance with international experts.
