Do you remember those old trunks that, when opened, reveal treasures from the past so full of memories that just catching a glimpse of them makes your heart race? Well, that’s the #modernariatopop of the Frankies. A quintet with the unique ability to reinterpret songs that all share the irresistible power to bring people together for a good time. Hits from the recent past, some more known than others, but all utterly irresistible!
The band was formed in 2008, driven by a desire for lightness, the rediscovery of artistic gems, musical quality, and a lively urge to perform for a curious audience with dancing knees. Their repertoire, rediscovered and reinterpreted in the Frankie style, has been refined through a reinterpretation of true musical pearls from the second half of the 20th century: Italian and international songs, from Nino Ferrer to Nada, from Tom Jones to Adriano Celentano, alongside Saturday night variety show themes with Raffaella Carrà , Stefania Rotolo, Johnny Dorelli, and the legendary Mina. All hits reimagined in a sound that makes it impossible not to feel the urge to move and dance. The Frankies are not a tribute band, nor do they follow any strict historical approach in their performances. They simply express their love for lightness by offering an engaging repertoire of original arrangements and reinterpretations—a mischievous and captivating collection, marked by an ironic groove and a carefree look, paying homage to Peter Sellers in the cult film The Party. Frankie Back From Hollywood. Best enjoyed with a long drink in hand… if you can manage not to spill it!
