Inspired by Giuseppe Verdi’s Requiem, Jonas Mekas’ Requiem is a work that explores the theme of death and memory through a poetic and intimate lens. Made in 2019 (shortly before his passing) the film combines powerful visual images and an editing that reflects grief and loss.
