Ci sembra che sia proprio arrivato il momento di tornare a scriverci.
Come forse già sai, il Romaeuropa Festival 2022 si svolgerà dall’8 settembre al 20 novembre, con un programma che non vediamo l’ora tu possa scoprire.
Proprio per questo abbiamo pensato di ricominciare la nostra corrispondenza con alcune prime anticipazioni .
Il primo artista di cui vogliamo parlarti è islandese, classe 1986, ed ha incantato il mondo sin dai suoi esordi con un percorso vulcanico, costellato di innovazioni, profondamente legato ai paesaggi naturali del suo paese di origine e contemporaneamente aperto alla contaminazione: parliamo del celebre compositore e producer Ólafur Arnalds, che, torna nella capitale dopo 10 anni per presentare il suo ultimo monumentale album Some kind of peace. Unica tappa italiana del suo tour mondiale il live è presentato da Romaeuropa in collaborazione con Spring Attitude Festival nella Cavea dell’Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone il 10 settembre.
Dalle composizioni post-minimaliste, apprezzate tanto nell’ambiente della musica sperimentale quanto in quello della classica e spesso utilizzate nei film e nelle serie Tv (da The Hunger Games a Mia Madre di Nanni Moretti) alle collaborazioni per la realizzazione di specifiche colonne sonore per il cinema e per giganti della danza come Wayne McGregor fino ai progetti più arditi e sperimentali, le incursioni nel mondo della techno, le collaborazioni con il compositore tedesco Nils Frahm, la rivisitazione dei giganti della musica classica (tra tutti Chopin) e l’immersione nell’universo tecnologico per la costruzione dei rivoluzionari pianoforti Stratus auto-sonanti brevettati ed utilizzati per la prima volta nell’album “re:member” del 2014. Per tutti questi motivi Ólafur può vantare un pubblico vastissimo e trasversale, la capacità di riempire i più grandi spazi musicali del mondo (dall’Europa all’Asia e agli Stati Uniti), di conquistare il cuore dei suoi ascoltatori scoprendo di volta in volta aspetti differenti della sua natura.
Lo stesso accade con Some Kind Of Peace, un progetto nato durante la pandemia che lo porta oggi in un territorio inesplorato all’interno del quale mettersi a nudo, raccontare la propria storia e ricercare una forma di intimità con sé stesso e con il pubblico. Abbassare la guardia, fidarsi, trovare nella contemplazione una forma personale di pace e abbracciare tutto ciò che la vita ci offre: è questo l’invito che il musicista islandese fa al suo pubblico invitandolo a condividere le reciproche vulnerabilità attraverso la musica, ad abbandonarsi, ancora una volta, alla bellezza talvolta conturbante, talvolta profondamente romantica di armonie inaspettate e di sorprendenti sequenze melodiche.

As you may already know, Romaeuropa Festival 2022 will take place from the 8th September to the 20th November, with a program that we can’t wait for you to discover.
Precisely for this reason we decided to restart our correspondence with some first previews.
The first artist we want announce is Icelandic, born in 1986, and has enchanted the world since its inception with a volcanic path, studded with innovations, deeply linked to the natural landscapes of his country of origin and at the same time open to contamination: let’s talk about the famous composer and producer Olafur Arnalds, who returns to the capital after 10 years to present his latest monumental album Some kind of peace. The only Italian date of his world tour is presented by Romaeuropa in collaboration with Spring Attitude festival in the Cavea of ??the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone on September the 10th.
From post-minimalist compositions, appreciated both in the experimental music environment and in the classical one and often used in films and TV series (from The Hunger Games to Mia Madre by Nanni Moretti) to collaborations for the creation of specific soundtracks for cinema and dance giants such as Wayne McGregor up to the most daring and experimental projects: forays into the world of techno, collaborations with the German composer Nils Frahm, the reinterpretation of the giants of classical music (among all Chopin) and immersion in the technological universe for the construction of the revolutionary self-sounding Stratus pianos used for the first time in the 2014 “re: member” album.
For all these reasons Ólafur can boast a vast and transversal audience, with an ability to fill the largest musical spaces in the world (from Europe to Asia and the United States) and to win the hearts of its listeners by discovering every time different aspects of his nature.
The same happens with Some Kind Of Peace, a project born during the pandemic that takes him today to an unexplored territory where he can get vulnerable, tell his story and seek a form of intimacy with himself and with the public. Let your guard down, trust, find a personal form of peace in contemplation and embrace all that life offers us: this is the invitation that the Icelandic musician makes to his audience, inviting them to share their mutual vulnerabilities through music, to abandon themselves, once again, to the sometimes disturbing, sometimes deeply romantic beauty of unexpected harmonies and surprising melodic sequences.
