POV – Point of View

Romaeuropa Festival presents NORA and Public Opinion, two computer art installations selected as part of POV – Point of View, a project developed by second-year students from the BA in Graphic Design and Art Direction at NABA, Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, Rome campus.

Created within the Computer Art course under the artistic direction of Gregorio Comandini and Saverio Villirillo—NABA lecturers and co-founders of Liminal State—the project reflects the experimental and interdisciplinary approach that defines the Academy’s Graphic Design and Communication programme. Taking point of view as a lens through which to interpret the complexity of the present, the students have developed immersive and interactive experiences that bring different perspectives into dialogue. Individual perception, inevitably shaped by cultural, social, emotional and perceptual factors, becomes a space for exchange where even conflict can generate understanding, empathy and new ways of relating to reality.

NORA, created by Nora Collective, immerses visitors in a scientific and sensory environment inspired by clinical and laboratory aesthetics. Through visual and sound stimuli, psychological tests and biometric measurements, the installation explores the relationship between body, memory, emotion and environment, revealing how the same experience can give rise to profoundly different perceptions.

Public Opinion, by Collettivo 360, explores the Italian healthcare system through the testimonies of both healthcare professionals and patients. An interactive device brings opposing perspectives into dialogue, encouraging visitors to move beyond one-sided interpretations and recognise the human, relational and collective dimensions that shape today’s healthcare system.
