From 2009 to 2013 Jefta van Dinther tracked an extraordinary and unprecedented authorial path, drawing the attention of whole Europe. “This is concrete” was created in 2012 in collaboration with the Brazilian choreographer and dancer Thiago Granato. Two men slip into a clubbing atmosphere in which seven speakers vibrate, giving a slow continuity to the choreography’s rhythm. The performers talks to their mouths and bodies, engaging a corporal and social fusion of pure pleasure. The spatial, physical and perceptive limits are active part of the performance, together with the employment of continuous movement’s audio devices and the relationship between humans and objects are the structural strengths of “This is concrete”, both as a leitmotiv and as its creative evolution.
