Leïla Ka creates a colorful and timeless ode to the girl’s night out- from ancient Greek gynaeceums (womens’ quarters) to Hollywood sleepovers. The stage of Maldonne is filled with dresses: evening, bridal, bedroom, everyday, prom, gowns that are long, puffy, tight-fitting, extra-large, glittering with sequins. Five dancers rotate to the rhythms of Lara Fabian, or dance euphorically to the notes of Shostakovich- traversing between classical, electronic and a diverse variety of music.
