The Italian company Motus presents for the first time together the two chapters of its project dedicated to the figure of Frankenstein: A History of Love and A History of Hate. While the first chapter explores the solitude of writer Mary Shelley and her creatures, delving into the boundary between humans and non-humans, A History of Love focuses on adolescence, analyzing the dynamics of violence and bullying. Here, love unexpectedly transforms into hate, benevolence into violence, and the creatures, unheard and isolated, become monsters. As in Shelley’s novel, where the creature is an “unfortunate one,” here the monster is born from loneliness, suffering, and rejection, in a continuous, painful attempt to find a place in the world.
