In 2025, La RusticaXBand will celebrate 25 years of uninterrupted activity. This is an important milestone for a musical and social project that has, from the very beginning, combined training, passion, and inclusion, offering dozens of young people the chance to grow through music.
The band was founded in 1998 inside the Centro Diurno Minori di La Rustica (Day Care Centre for Minors) in La Rustica, a service desired by the Municipality of Rome – Municipality VII and entrusted to the Cooperativa Sociale Nuove Risposte. The aim was to offer an educational reference point in a neighborhood at high risk of marginality and social disintegration.
The center is located at Via Naide 116b, with about one hundred young people enrolled. Among the activities offered, La RusticaXBand has become the beating heart of a path that has involved about 40 young musicians over time.
Over the years, the band has been the protagonist of numerous initiatives in the city: ecological days, carnivals, street band festivals, and cultural events. Its educational value is testified by the path of many of its members: as many as 11 young people grew up musically in the project, graduated from the Conservatory, and now work as music teachers and jazz musicians.
