Lithuanian band MEROPE has gained international attention for its minimalist folk music interwoven with subtle harmonies and electronic landscapes. Composed of Lithuanian singer and musician Indre Jurgeleviciute and Belgian guitarist Bert Cools, they will present V?jula, their latest globally acclaimed album featuring a unique atmosphere of ancestral sounds and improvisations, at the REF.
Merope’s roots lie in Lithuanian folk songs, blending traditional harmonies with influences from various cultures. Indr? Jurgeleviciute’s kankles and Bert Cools’ experimental guitar create an intimate, sonic landscape.
