Live

Friday night at ULTRA CLUB unfolds along radical sonic coordinates, traversing electronic music, club culture, and experimental practices that question the body, voice, and technology.

Maria Arnal takes the stage with a musical trajectory that defies classification. Emerging from the contemporary Catalan scene, Arnal has become known for her research-based approach, weaving together avant-pop, electronics, and polyphonic vocal traditions. Her work opens up singing to algorithmic dimensions, bioacoustics, and the expressive potential of artificial intelligence. Collaborations with artists like John Talabot, choreographer Marcos Morau (La Veronal), and institutions such as CCCB and the Barcelona Supercomputing Center highlight a creative path in constant dialogue with other disciplines and languages. Among her recent works, Maria CHOIR and SIRENA stand out as sound practices that become installations, generative organisms, and political gestures. Her upcoming release Flors de veu(2025) further expands her investigation into synthetic voice and the memory of song.

Joining her is HYPERLORE, a project curated by Klang, presenting two performances that explore the transfiguration of the song form through a dialogue between eras, knowledge systems, and geographies: Sara Persico, a Berlin-based artist, originates from Naples’ underground noise scene, crafting a sonic language that interlaces voice, analog electronics, and field recordings. Her work moves between performance and installation, spontaneous composition and collaborations with figures like Caterina Barbieri, Andy Moor, and Elvin Brandhi. With appearances at festivals and venues like CTM, Berghain Kantine, Nyege Nyege, and documenta fifteen, Persico continues a visceral, intuitive exploration of sound as both material and presence.
Érotiq, a project born in Rome, navigates electronic territories and symbolic imaginaries to construct a language that reflects on power, aesthetics, and forms of manipulation. Through sampling, razor-sharp texts, and visual materials ranging from propaganda to war imagery, Érotiq creates sonic environments charged with a constant tension—between allure and unease, desire and control.
