Lazio Danza e Teatro

Presentation of the outcomes of the programmes

6 October 2026

Promoted by the Lazio Region – Department for Culture, Equal Opportunities, Youth Policies and Family Affairs, Civil Service – and the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the Lazio Danza 2026 and Lazio Teatro 2026 programmes are produced by Lazio Innova and coordinated by Fondazione Romaeuropa.

The two programmes are dedicated to the training, research and professional development of young artists from the Lazio region. Following a public call, they brought together young dancers, choreographers, actors and actresses, and a young director.

Through training and research programmes, participants had the opportunity to engage with different practices and languages of contemporary performance, experimenting with creative methods and tools.

Lazio Danza 2026 involved 19 dancers and one young choreographer in a programme developed between Rome and London, in collaboration with Studio Wayne McGregor and Peparini Academy.

Lazio Teatro 2026 involved 9 actors and actresses and one young director in a programme focused on contemporary performance practices, with particular attention to forms of playwriting, dramaturgy and directing.

The event taking place on 6 October at La Pelanda presents to the public the outcomes of the two programmes and the work developed over the past months together with the participating artists and professionals.

PROGRAMME OUTCOME

NOI/CIELO

What makes us feel part of something?

What are those moments when the distance between us seems to grow shorter, and a small light begins to shine within each of us?

NOI/CIELO explores the sense of belonging through a form of devised theatre, searching for those small gestures and encounters that, in everyday life, bring us closer to one another.

The student director Cecilia Smilla Ciarambino developed the creative idea presented during the selection process, creating a performance written through the active participation of the actors and actresses involved.
