Janet Novás / Mercedes Peón – Mercedes máis eu

Nata dall’incontro tra la danzatrice Janet Novás e la compositrice Mercedes Peón, Mercedes máis eu è un dialogo intimo e potente tra danza e musica. Le due artiste costruiscono un paesaggio emotivo dove corpo e suono si fondono, dando vita a una drammaturgia fatta di gesti, ritmi e ricordi. Oggetti, movimenti e sonorità diventano strumenti per esplorare la memoria collettiva e personale, in un viaggio che intreccia affetto, politica e appartenenza. Un’opera che celebra la forza dell’incontro e la possibilità di trasformare l’esperienza in racconto condiviso.
Armin Hokmi – Shiraz

Con Shiraz, Armin Hokmi dà vita a una coreografia per sette danzatori ispirata al leggendario Festival delle Arti di Shiraz (1967–1977). Nella memoria di quell’evento, che fuse tradizione e avanguardia, Hokmi ritrova lo spirito di libertà e sperimentazione che anima la sua danza. I corpi intrecciano movimenti in continua metamorfosi, evocando la relazione tra passato e presente, luogo e identità. Shiraz non è un omaggio ma una visione: un atto di condivisione e rinascita, in cui la memoria diventa gesto e la danza si fa archivio vivente.
Ermira Goro – Sirensù

La coreografa Ermira Goro invita il pubblico a un viaggio sensuale e misterioso nel mondo del desiderio e della libertà identitaria. In Sirens, interpretato da Chara Kotsali e Adonis Vais, i corpi si trasformano continuamente, sfidando gli stereotipi di genere e costruendo un linguaggio di autoespressione autentico e fluido.
La musica originale di Jeph Vanger accompagna la metamorfosi scenica, in una coreografia che indaga le forme del desiderio e del sogno, restituendo alla danza la sua forza più pura: quella di rivelare la complessità dell’essere umano.
Francesca Santamaria – GOOD VIBES ONLY (the great effort)

In GOOD VIBES ONLY (the great effort), Francesca Santamaria mette in scena un corpo immerso nel flusso incessante dell’informazione. Un corpo esposto, attraversato, scrollato da un continuo bombardamento visivo e sonoro. La performance diventa un campo di battaglia tra materia e virtualità, tra presenza fisica e sovra-performatività digitale.
Attraverso una sequenza di movimenti generati in tempo reale, selezionati da un archivio di “trend” e danze virali, la coreografa riflette sull’impatto dello scrolling – gesto simbolo del nostro tempo – come azione automatica e rituale quotidiano. GOOD VIBES ONLY (the great effort) è un’indagine lucida e poetica sul corpo contemporaneo, costretto a rispondere senza tregua alle richieste del mondo connesso.
Aristide Rontini – Lampyris Noctiluca

Con Lampyris Noctiluca, Aristide Rontini costruisce un solo in dialogo ideale con l’eredità poetica di Pier Paolo Pasolini. Le “lucciole” evocate dallo scrittore diventano simbolo di resistenza e metamorfosi, presenza e assenza, luce che sopravvive nel buio. Il corpo del danzatore attraversa spazio e memoria, facendosi materia in trasformazione e riflesso di un tempo interiore.
Rontini esplora la danza come linguaggio dell’ambiguità e dell’apertura, dove il gesto si sottrae alla definizione per accogliere la molteplicità. La scena si fa luogo di visioni, di passaggi, di apparizioni: un orizzonte di possibilità sempre nuove.
Vittorio Pagani – SUPERSTELLA

In SUPERSTELLA, Vittorio Pagani si interroga sul ruolo dell’artista e del coreografo nel contesto della danza contemporanea. Ispirandosi a 8½ di Fellini e ai lavori di Kenneth Anger e Richard Dyer, Pagani intreccia danza, video e parola in una riflessione sul rapporto tra creazione, autenticità e mercato.
Il tempo, concepito come materia fluida e manipolabile, diventa elemento drammaturgico centrale, trasformando la performance in un processo aperto e circolare. Lo spettatore è invitato a partecipare come co-creatore, in un’esperienza che ridefinisce il confine tra autore, interprete e pubblico.
Matteo Sedda – FUCK ME BLIND

Vincitore di DNAppunti Coreografici 2024, Matteo Sedda presenta FUCK ME BLIND, un duo ispirato a Blue, l’ultimo film di Derek Jarman. I performer, legati da un punto centrale di contatto, si muovono in una danza che fonde eros e morte, desiderio e dissoluzione.
Come nel film di Jarman, il colore blu diventa simbolo di trascendenza e consapevolezza, elemento visivo e spirituale attorno a cui ruota la coreografia. Il movimento circolare e ipnotico dei due corpi crea un paesaggio sensoriale sospeso tra sogno e realtà, dove la danza diventa meditazione sul limite, sulla fine e sulla rinascita.

L’undicesima edizione di DNAppunti Coreografici presenta i quattro progetti finalisti del 2025:
Jessica De Masi – Cosmogonia futura, Riccardo De Simone – Everybody Has a Fate, Nunzia Picciallo – Horizon, Barbara Carulli e Sara Capanna – One, Two, Through.
Le opere selezionate esplorano le relazioni tra corpo e identità, potere e vulnerabilità, gesto e memoria.
Dal mito reinventato alla riflessione politica, dalla percezione del tempo alle dinamiche di relazione, le giovani coreografe e i giovani coreografi costruiscono un mosaico di ricerche che riflettono la vitalità della scena contemporanea.
DNAppunti Coreografici è un progetto di sostegno alla giovane coreografia italiana under 35, promosso in collaborazione tra Centro Nazionale di Produzione della Danza Virgilio Sieni, Operaestate Festival/CSC Bassano del Grappa, L’arboreto – Teatro Dimora di Mondaino, Fondazione Romaeuropa, Gender Bender Festival e Triennale Milano Teatro.

Armin Hokmi – Shiraz

With Shiraz, Armin Hokmi creates a choreography for seven dancers inspired by the legendary Shiraz Arts Festival (1967–1977).
Drawing from that event’s fusion of tradition and avant-garde, Hokmi rediscovers the spirit of freedom and experimentation that fuels his dance.
The dancers’ bodies weave movements in constant metamorphosis, evoking the relationship between past and present, place and identity.
Shiraz is not a homage but a vision—an act of sharing and rebirth, where memory becomes gesture and dance turns into a living archive.
Ermira Goro – Sirens

Choreographer Ermira Goro invites the audience on a sensual and mysterious journey through desire and the freedom of identity.
In Sirens, performed by Chara Kotsali and Adonis Vais, the bodies are in constant transformation, challenging gender stereotypes and building a language of authentic and fluid self-expression.

In GOOD VIBES ONLY (the great effort), Francesca Santamaria stages a body immersed in the relentless flow of information—a body exposed, shaken, and scrolled by a continuous visual and sonic bombardment.
The performance becomes a battleground between matter and virtuality, between physical presence and digital over-performance.
Through a sequence of real-time movements drawn from an archive of “trends” and viral dances, the choreographer reflects on the impact of scrolling—the emblematic gesture of our time—as both an automatic action and a daily ritual.
GOOD VIBES ONLY (the great effort) is a lucid and poetic inquiry into the contemporary body, forced to endlessly respond to the demands of a hyperconnected world.
Aristide Rontini – Lampyris Noctiluca

With Lampyris Noctiluca, Aristide Rontini creates a solo piece in ideal dialogue with the poetic legacy of Pier Paolo Pasolini.
The “fireflies” evoked by the writer become symbols of resistance and metamorphosis—presence and absence, light surviving in darkness.
The dancer’s body travels through space and memory, transforming into matter in flux, a reflection of inner time.
Rontini explores dance as a language of ambiguity and openness, where gesture resists definition and embraces multiplicity.
The stage becomes a place of visions, transitions, and apparitions—a horizon of ever-new possibilities.
Vittorio Pagani – SUPERSTELLA

In SUPERSTELLA, Vittorio Pagani questions the role of the artist and choreographer within the contemporary dance landscape.
Inspired by Fellini’s 8½ and the works of Kenneth Anger and Richard Dyer, Pagani intertwines dance, video, and spoken word in a reflection on the relationship between creation, authenticity, and the art market.
Time—conceived as a fluid and malleable substance—becomes a central dramaturgical element, turning the performance into an open and circular process.
The audience is invited to participate as co-creators in an experience that redefines the boundaries between author, performer, and spectator.
Matteo Sedda – FUCK ME BLIND

Winner of DNAppunti Coreografici 2024, Matteo Sedda presents FUCK ME BLIND, a duet inspired by Derek Jarman’s final film Blue.
The two performers, connected by a single central point, move in a dance that intertwines eros and death, desire and dissolution.
As in Jarman’s film, the color blue becomes a symbol of transcendence and awareness—a visual and spiritual element around which the choreography revolves.
The circular, hypnotic motion of the two bodies creates a sensory landscape suspended between dream and reality, where dance becomes a meditation on limits, endings, and rebirth.

The 11th edition of DNAppunti Coreografici presents the four finalist projects for 2025:

The selected works explore the relationships between body and identity, power and vulnerability, gesture and memory.
From reimagined myth to political reflection, from the perception of time to relational dynamics, these emerging choreographers build a mosaic of research that mirrors the vitality of today’s contemporary scene.
DNAppunti Coreografici is a project supporting Italian choreography under 35, promoted in collaboration with Centro Nazionale di Produzione della Danza Virgilio Sieni, Operaestate Festival/CSC Bassano del Grappa, L’arboreto – Teatro Dimora di Mondaino, Fondazione Romaeuropa, Gender Bender Festival, and Triennale Milano Teatro.
