Rareș Live

Rares doubles down with a second Ultra Club live performance featuring Sincero!, his new album released on May 15th, cementing his place as one of the most singular voices of his generation. Driven by precise, meticulously crafted songwriting and a refined sound built on woven saxophones, flutes, and clarinets, the record moves away from the heavier electronic experimentation of his previous releases in favor of a new essentiality: immediate, crystalline melodies that strip his creative exploration down to a raw, direct form.

A singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist born in Bârlad, raised in Veneto, shaped by Bologna, and now based in Milan, Rares turns Sincero! into a true break-up album. Without filters or facade, it captures the accumulation of subtle shifts, emotions, and internal tremors that lead to the end of a relationship. The record embraces the total honesty hinted at in its title, capturing the complex end of a romance with a delicate balance of lightness and depth.

Born in Bârlad, Romania in 1997, raised along the brackish waters of the Venice Lagoon, and later relocating to Bologna to study Electronic Music at the Conservatory before settling in Milan, Rares chose his given name to step up and make his mark on the Italian music scene—on his own terms. He winds and rewinds the traditional song structure in a constant dialogue between past and present, blending echoes of 1960s melodic traditions with synthetic synths and electronic beats.
In March 2020, he debuted with Curriculum Vitae, earning widespread acclaim from audiences and critics alike: he joined the lineup for MI AMI Ancora and launched his first solo tour, proving the stage is his natural habitat. The following year brought the Folk EP—an exploration into the forms and feelings of American neo-folk—along with the single Crisi and a full-band tour. At the end of 2021, he appeared in the season finale of “Niente di strano,” created and hosted by Carlo Pastore for Tidal and BuddyBank.
Following those shows, he returned to the studio to write and compose his next album, Femmina, released in March 2023 via Needn’t. Recorded solo alongside longtime friends and collaborators (Novecento, Colibree, Redmattre, and Marco Giudici), the record earned a spot on Rockit’s list of the top 50 albums of 2023. It was warmly received by fans and industry insiders alike, launching a tour across major Italian clubs and festivals.
In 2024, he featured on Cosmo’s track Strano Deserto—included in DJ and producer MACE’s album MAYA—and performed as a guest at Cosmo’s landmark event at the Forum di Assago in Milan that October. By late 2024, he took part in “Basta Session no. 5” alongside Mecna, Fenoaltea, Goedi, Bongi, and Alessandro Cianci. In May 2025, he released agosto, a track co-written with faccianuvola for the album Il dolce ricordo della nostra disperata gioventù. In 2026, Rares returns with his third album, Sincero!, released on May 15th via Panico Dischi.
