A double bill featuring artists from the Panico Concerti roster brings to the stage two of the most distinctive and compelling voices of the new Italian music scene.
Rare? returns to Ultra Club for Romaeuropa with a new live performance and Sincero!, his latest album, released on 15 May, further establishing himself as one of the most singular voices of his generation. Marked by meticulous songwriting and a refined sound shaped by interwoven saxophones, flutes, and clarinets, the album moves away from the electronic experimentation of his previous records in favour of a new essentiality: clear, immediate melodies capable of transforming artistic research into a more direct and unguarded form of expression.
A singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist born in Bârlad, raised in the Veneto region, shaped by his years in Bologna, and now based in Milan, Rare? turns Sincero! into a genuine break-up album, recounting with honesty and vulnerability the accumulation of small events, emotions, and inner upheavals that lead to the end of a relationship. As its title suggests, the album embraces absolute sincerity as its guiding principle, capturing with both lightness and depth the complexity of love’s ending.
The evening continues with Marta Del Grandi, who brings to the stage one of the most refined and magnetic projects on the contemporary Italian music scene, a body of work that has also garnered growing international recognition. A Milanese singer-songwriter with a jazz background whose artistic path has taken her through Milan, Belgium, China, and Kathmandu, Del Grandi has developed a highly distinctive sonic universe where avant-pop, folk, cinematic songwriting, and minimalist electronics coexist in a rare and immediately recognisable balance.
Live, this material unfolds into an elegant, layered, and hypnotic performance, moving effortlessly between intimacy, emotional tension, and visionary openness. Among the most notable releases of the year, Dream Life, her latest album, unfolds as a true field of visions: a panoramic and multidimensional snapshot permeated by a serene sense of disillusionment, capable of transcending musical boundaries as desires, personal tensions, and aspirations are projected into the vastness of the world, the stars, and what lies beyond.
Marta Del Grandi is a Milanese singer-songwriter. Formed as a jazz musician, she studied at the G. Verdi Conservatory in Milan and in Belgium at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent. Driven by a strong passion for travel and exploring different places and cultures, she later moved first to China for a brief period, and then to Nepal, where she lived for two and a half years in Kathmandu. Living in such a different environment and gaining a deep understanding of it greatly influenced her worldview and, consequently, the music and lyrics she wrote for her solo debut, Until We Fossilize (2021). Released by the British label Fire Records, the album is an avant-pop work where folk-rock stylings, Lynchian atmospheres, and cinematic arrangements reminiscent of Ennio Morricone’s soundtracks coexist. In 2023, she followed up with the album Selva (Fire Records), which was acclaimed by both audiences and critics, positioning her as one of the most prominent emerging talents on the national scene. Her latest work, Dream Life, is scheduled for release on January 30th via Fire Records.
Rare?: Born in Bârlad, Romania, in 1997, raised in the brackish waters of the Venice Lagoon, moved to Bologna to study Electronic Music at the Conservatory, and now based in Milan, Rare? chose his birth name to step up and get serious in the Italian music world, but entirely on his own terms. He winds and rewinds the song form in a constant dialogue between past and present, blending the echo of 1960s melodic tradition with electronic sounds, incorporating sharp synths and electronic beats. In March 2020, he made his debut with Curriculum Vitae, which caught the attention of audiences and critics alike; he was included in the line-up for MI AMI Ancora and embarked on his first solo tour, proving that the stage is his natural habitat. The following year saw the release of the EP Folk—a sort of study on the forms and emotions of American neo-folk—as well as the single Crisi and a full-band tour. At the end of 2021, he took part in the final episode of the format “Niente di strano,” created and hosted by Carlo Pastore for Tidal and BuddyBank.
Following the live dates, he returned to the studio to write and compose his new album, Femmina, released in March 2023 via Needn’t. Recorded solo as well as with his long-time friends and collaborators (Novecento, Colibree, Redmattre, Marco Giudici), the record was included in Rockit’s ranking of the 50 best albums of 2023. The work was very well received by both the public and industry professionals, allowing him to launch a tour through clubs and, subsequently, the most important festivals in Italy. In 2024, he collaborated with Cosmo on the track Strano Deserto, included in the album MAYA by DJ and producer MACE, and appeared as a guest on stage during MACE’s event concert at the Forum di Assago in Milan in October. At the end of 2024, he took part in “Basta Session no.5” alongside Mecna, Fenoaltea, Goedi, Bongi, and Alessandro Cianci. In May 2025, he released agosto, a song written together with faccianuvola and included in the latter’s album Il dolce ricordo della nostra disperata gioventù. In 2026, Rare? is preparing to return with his third album, Sincero!, scheduled for release on May 15th via Panico Dischi.
