Just few choreographers have been able to take inspiration from texts and various topics such as Virgilio Sieni. So “Dolce vita” becomes a challenge between the Passion of Christ and the Florentine choreographer; however, the text rather than stage of the Passion is the starting point of Sieni’s style and choreography. Announce, Crucifixion, Demotion, Pity and Resurrection are the five paintings titles that tracks a path through «pain and beauty, pity and levity» for Sieni’s new stage of research. He explores gestures and movement genealogy as a spiritual archeology, because he is a choreographer who is able to combine fascinating lyrical and poetical vision with intellectual rigour and stimulation.
