How does one orchestrate one’s own disappearance?
M. is a dancer who intends to leave the stage. Each day in the rehearsal room feels like the last. Every fragment of movement becomes an incision into a specific aesthetic, language, and time.
Marco D’Agostin and Marta Ciappina shape Catalogo as a network of collaborations, gazes, intentions, and perspectives around the body and dance, bringing together in a single evening the viewpoints of some of the most important choreographers of the Italian and international scene.
Silvia Gribaudi, CollettivO CineticO (Francesca Pennini), Sotterraneo, and Emio Greco together with Pieter C. Scholten compose a piece for M. without ever having met her beforehand.
What emerges is a choreographic blind date, as D’Agostin calls it, with unpredictable outcomes, in which the different fragments—stitched together by the dramaturgy of the Premio Ubu-winning choreographer—form a score about farewell, endings, and survival
