Giraffe
L’incredibile storia della zoologa Anne Innis Dagg

A show that tells the extraordinary life of Anne Innis Dagg, a pioneer of ethology who challenged convention in the 1950s to study giraffes in Africa. Biographical account and storytelling theater weave together to narrate the story of a free and determined woman, guided by curiosity and a love for nature, on a journey through science, courage, and self-determination.

Federica Migliotti is a Rome-based director, actress, and playwright. She graduated with honors in History of Contemporary Art from Sapienza University of Rome, with a thesis on the performance artist Sophie Calle. In parallel, she advanced her theater and dance training, studying with internationally renowned masters such as Marco Martinelli, Ermanna Montanari, Alessandro Serra, Elena Bucci, Jean Cébron, Julie Stanzak, and Giorgio Rossi, among others. She also holds a diploma in Creative Movement Pedagogy from Choronde – Progetto Educativo’s “La danza va a scuola” program.

In 2006, she founded the TeatroViola company, producing shows for younger generations. Her research initially focused on traditional fairy tales and music before expanding into dance-theater and original dramaturgy. Her productions have received numerous accolades, including the Otello Sarzi Award (2009), the Ermo Colle Critics’ Award (2010), and the In Viva Voce grant promoted by ATCL Lazio (2020).

Alongside her artistic work, she has dedicated years to theater education in schools, leading workshops for children, teenagers, and parents, and teaching theater to children for the Stap Brancaccio Academy. Since 2016, she has curated the theater season and school projects for the Teatro Biblioteca Quarticciolo. She served as artistic director for the “Il teatro va a scuola” showcase at Teatro Rosmini (2019–2024), and since 2022, she has curated “Supernova,” a school dance showcase for Orbita – Spellbound, a dance production center at the Teatro Palladium in Rome.
