Silvia Gribaudi

AMAZZONI

Silvia Gribaudi, long engaged in a research that intertwines irony, bodily freedom, and the critique of stereotypes, presents with AMAZZONI a work that reactivates myth without illustrating it. In dialogue with Marta Olivieri, Martina La Ragione, Sara Sguotti, Susannah Iheme, and Vittoria Caneva, she constructs a stage made of presence, complicity, and resistance: not a battle against an enemy, but a collective training in inhabiting the world with the whole body. The dance does not seek unison, but a form of relation in which difference becomes shared strength. Moving between energy, parody, and momentum, AMAZZONI traverses power in order to dismantle it and return it as a free, physical, and radical gesture.

Silvia Gribaudi is an Italian choreographer active in the performing arts. Since 2004, she has focused her work on the social impact of the body and the relationship between audience and performer, through artistic research into choreographic language, dance, and humor. With a specific focus on the human and relational level, she develops her works through dialogue and poetic encounters with the artists she collaborates with, communities, and the audience, who become an integral part of every performative act.

Her most recent productions include the solo SUSPENDED CHORUS (2025), co-produced by Teatro Stabile di Torino – Teatro Nazionale (IT), La Corte Ospitale (IT), Rum för Dans (SE), Le Gymnase CDCN – Roubaix (FR), and What You See Festival (NL); THE DOOZIES (2024), created with Marta Dalla Via, co-produced by Teatro Stabile del Veneto – Teatro Nazionale and La Corte Ospitale; and GRAND JETÉ (2023) with MM Contemporary Dance Company (IT), co-produced by La Biennale de Lyon (FR), Théâtre de la Ville (FR), Rum för Dans (SE), Torinodanza Festival (IT), International Dance Festival TANEC PRAHA (CZ), Zodiak – Side Step Festival (FIN), and the international network Big Pulse Dance Alliance.

She received the Premio Giovane Danza D’Autore Veneto for A CORPO LIBERO (2009). She was a finalist for the Premio UBU for Best Dance Performance and a finalist for the Premio Rete Critica with R.OSA, featuring Claudia A. Marsicano (2017). She also won the Premio CollaborAction#4 2018-2019, was a finalist for the Premio Rete Critica 2019, won the Premio DANZA&DANZA 2019 for Best Italian Production with GRACES, and received the Premio Hystrio Corpo a Corpo 2021.

Her shows have been presented in numerous theaters and festivals across Europe, Asia, and America. These include Théâtre de la Ville in Paris, The Holland Dance Festival in The Hague, Shanghai International Dance Center, CINARS in Montreal, Torinodanza Festival, Biennale di Venezia, Bolzano Danza, Dansnät Sverige in Sweden, and La Biennale de Lyon.

Silvia Gribaudi is one of the founders of Zebra, a dance production organization recognized and supported by the Italian Ministry of Culture since 2018. She is an associate artist at Le Gymnase CDCN (Roubaix – France) for the 2024-2026 three-year period and at the Teatro Stabile di Torino – Teatro Nazionale (2025-2027).
