Lorem is a Multidisciplinary project led by sound and visual artist Francesco D’Abbraccio. He investigates the interaction between man and machine in the era of artificial intelligence. Presented in collaboration with the Re: Humanism award and with the support of Alan Advantage, the immersive performance Within a latent space explores the so-called “latent space”: the subconscious of a network, a multidimensional space where lies all the possible characteristics of a neural network. Using only artificial intelligence systems, Lorem builds a disturbing and mysterious journey suspended between past, present and future, between our psyche and the transpersonal unconscious.

Lorem è un progetto multidisciplinare guidato dal sound e visual artistist Francesco D’Abbraccio e costruito intorno ad un’indagine sul rapporto uomo-computer nell’era dell’intelligenza artificiale. Negli ultimi due anni Lorem ha costruito una piattaforma collaborativa, coinvolgendo artisti che lavorano con le AI (Mario Klingemann, Damien Henry), artisti video (Karol Sudolski, Mirek Hardiker) e ricercatori di ingegneria dell’informazione (Nicola Cattabiani) con l’obiettivo di produrre audio, immagini e testi originali. Reti neurali profonde, hardware compromessi ed errori programmati sono utilizzati per guidare le macchine verso comportamenti estetici e autonomi.
