In Ottobre 22, actor, director and playwright Renato Sorti, in collaboration with historian Mimmo Franzinelli and the dramaturg Sergio Pierattini, reconstructs the events that, in the context of the serious political and social crisis of 1922, made possible the March on Rome and the subsequent mandate to Mussolini by Vittorio Emanuele to form a government: the first step towards the birth of his dictatorship. Through dramaturgical fiction, analysis of facts and documents and interpretations of historians and witnesses, the show attempts to unearth the reasons that lead to the fatal revocation of the instrument that could have changed the course of history in our country: outlawing the organizers of the March and consequently changing the strategy of those within those institutions who were “strongly convinced that they could absorb the batons of power with statutory legality”- all protagonists of a negotiation with Mussolini and all dramatically deceived by him.
