Dal 20 settembre al 16 novembre il Romaeuropa Festival continua a celebrare i suoi quarant’anni con ULTRA REF, un festival nel festival che trasforma la Pelanda del Mattatoio in uno spazio di sperimentazione, incontro e festa. Un crocevia di linguaggi artistici, tra musica, danza, teatro, arti visive e culture digitali, che conferma la vocazione del REF a muoversi oltre i confini disciplinari.
Tornano le rassegne dedicate alla danza e alla coreografia con i Dancing Days che aprono spazi di visione, dove movimento e suono si intrecciano e la rassegna Anni Luce che mappa il futuro del teatro italiano con una costellazione di artisti e artiste emergenti, percorsi inediti e sguardi che accendono il presente.
La Pelanda torna cuore pulsante del programma con le sezioni più innovative: dai concerti di Lyra Pramuk e Isabelle Lewis (20 settembre) all’esplosiva settimana di ULTRA CLUB dedicata alle nuove sonorità elettroniche e pop, passando per installazioni immersive, esperienze in realtà virtuale e progetti che indagano il rapporto tra intelligenza artificiale e creatività .
Il palinsesto si amplia con Design Talks, giornata dedicata al graphic design contemporaneo, e con focus internazionali come quello sulla scena lituana, tra musica, danza e nuova drammaturgia.
Come ogni anno non mancheranno le proposte per l’infanzia con il REF Kids & Family.
Tra memoria e futuro, ULTRA REF invita il pubblico a vivere il Mattatoio come un laboratorio condiviso, in costante trasformazione, dove le arti dialogano e si contaminano restituendo la complessità del presente e la vitalità delle nuove generazioni.

From September 20 to November 16, the Romaeuropa Festival continues celebrating its fortieth anniversary with ULTRA REF, a festival within the festival that transforms La Pelanda at the Mattatoio into a space of experimentation, encounter, and festivity. A crossroads of artistic languages—spanning music, dance, theater, visual arts, and digital cultures—that confirms REF’s vocation to move beyond disciplinary boundaries.
Dance and choreography return with the Dancing Days, which open up new spaces of vision where movement and sound intertwine, and with Anni Luce, a showcase mapping the future of Italian theater through a constellation of emerging artists, innovative paths, and perspectives that ignite the present.
La Pelanda once again becomes the beating heart of the program with its most innovative sections: from concerts by Lyra Pramuk and Isabelle Lewis (September 20) to the explosive ULTRA CLUB week dedicated to new electronic and pop sounds, alongside immersive installations, virtual reality experiences, and projects exploring the relationship between artificial intelligence and creativity.
The program expands with Design Talks, a day dedicated to contemporary graphic design, and international focuses such as the one on the Lithuanian scene, featuring music, dance, and new dramaturgy.
As every year, there will also be offerings for children and families with REF Kids & Family.
Between memory and future, ULTRA REF invites the public to experience the Mattatoio as a shared laboratory in constant transformation, where the arts engage in dialogue and cross-pollination, reflecting the complexity of the present and the vitality of new generations.
