Il primo weekend d’autunno porta già con sé la nostalgia delle lunghe serate estive, del colore dei tramonti, degli spettacoli che hanno attraversato le settimane inaugurali del festival sotto il cielo della Cavea dell’Auditorium Parco della Musica o di Villa Medici. Ma il cuore della trentaseiesima edizione del Romaeuropa Festival ha ancora il calore dell’estate e la forza di una festa intesa come incontro, scambio, crescita, curiosità, inclusione.
Così, mentre nella Sala Petrassi dell’Auditorium Parco della Musica l’Akram Khan Dance Company continua ad accogliere (fino a domenica) bambine e bambini di tutte le età con Chotto Xenos; il Mattatoio di Testaccio si anima con le visioni virtuali di Digitalive e con un allestimento eco-friendly pensato come un giardino per la sosta tra gli spettacoli che ci accompagneranno fino a novembre.
Proprio al Mattatoio, martedì 28 settembre si apre la terza settimana del REf con la sezione Anni Luce curata da Maura Teofili e volta ed esplorare i linguaggi, le energie, le istanze del teatro italiano e la creatività della generazione Under30. Due le compagnie in scena: Secteur In.Verso, il collettivo italo-francese formato da Chiara Boitani, Mathilde Chadeau e Climène Perrin presenta in prima assoluta lo spettacolo Ça ne résonne pas / Ça résonne trop (dopo lo studio presentato lo scorso anno per la prima edizione di Powered By REf), un dialogo tra due identità e un confronto con la natura, la crisi ambientale, e il costante senso di catastrofe con cui sembrano convivere le nuove generazioni mentre, negli stessi giorni, Camilla Brison e Tatjana Motta presentano Notte Bianca un percorso di iniziazione attraverso l’incontro con l’ignoto, con l’Estraneo, con l’Altro, con una festa notturna in cui perdersi e diventare altro da sé.
Ma Anni Luce è anche uno spazio e un tempo volto alla sperimentazione e al confronto con il pubblico fuori dai consueti schemi produttivi. Così Valeria Wandja con Yonas Aregay e Giulia Odetto offrono agli spettatori un primo sguardo sulla loro ricerca artistica, parte del percorso di formazione, tutoraggio e residenza retribuita del progetto Powered By REf.
Alla nuova drammaturgia e alla scrittura è invece dedicato il Format Situazione Drammatica ideato da Tindaro Granata che il 30 settembre e il 1 ottobre si concentra sul prestigioso Premio Hystrio con la lettura del testo Amore Storto di Christian Di Furia vincitore dell’edizione 2021 e Anna di Tommaso Fermariello, testo selezionato da Situazione Drammatica. Completano il format gli incontri realizzati in collaborazione con Rai Radio 3 e condotti da Antonio Audino e Tindaro Granata.
Il 3 ottobre il percorso di Anni Luce si conclude con il concerto 12 motivi, un progetto multimediale tra musica, performance live e video digitale firmato da Francesco Leineri.
Un ponte ideale con LINE UP! la nuova rassegna (a cura di Giulia Di Giovanni e Matteo Antonaci) che convoglia all’Auditorium Parco della Musica alcune delle proposte più interessanti del panorama pop, urban e cantautorale italiano. Una proposta interamente al femminile che vede protagoniste Rachele Bastreghi con il gran finale della sua prima tournée da s
olita con l’album PSYCHODONNA; la DJ, Producer e chanteuse di origini brasiliane e di base a Milano Emmanuelle con la sua scanzonata e sensuale Italo Disco, Boyrebecca con il suo provocatorio reggaeton capace di sfidare gli stereotipi maschilisti del genere, la romana Ditonellapiaga con le sue molteplici personalità capaci di spaziare dal rap al pop e di fare propri jazz e soul, LA NIÑA con le sue sonorità urban che affondano le radici nella tradizione napoletana, protagonista di uno speciale set per corde e sonagli, Bluem, giovanissima producer residente a Londra con il suo pop sofisticato e internazionale che guarda alla tradizione sarda (il suo brano Venerdì è stato recentemente scelto da Antonio Marras per la presentazione della sua ultima collezione)
Infine, Margherita Vicario, torna al festival un progetto speciale realizzato per il Romaeuropa Festival 2021 dal titolo Cosa vuoi che ne capiscano son bambini… dedicato a bambine e bambine dai 7 anni in su e alle loro famiglie. Uno spettacolo di canzoni (dagli album dell’artista) suonate insieme al giovane pubblico, di racconti e altre sorprese.

The first Saturday of autumn already brings along the nostalgia of long summer evenings, of the colors of sunset, and of the shows that we hosted during the opening weeks of the festival under the sky of the Auditorium Parco della Musica’s Cavea. But the heart of the 36th edition of the Romaeuropa Festival still has the warmth of summer and the strength of a party, intended as meetings, exchanges, growth, curiosity, inclusion.
Thus, while in the Auditorium Parco della Musica’s Sala Petrassi the Akram Khan Dance Company continues to welcome (until Sunday) girls and boys of all ages with Chotto Xenos, the Mattatoio in Testaccio comes alive with the virtual visions of Digitalive and with an eco-friendly setting designed as a garden to stop by inbetween shows, that will accompany us until November.
And right at the Mattatoio on Tuesday September 28th the third week of the REf will open with the Anni Luce section curated by Maura Teofili, wich will explore the languages, the energies, the instances of Italian theater and the creativity of the Under30 generation.
Two companies will be on on stage: Secteur In.Verso, the Italian-French collective formed by Chiara Boitani, Mathilde Chadeau and Climène Perrin who will present the world premiere of the performance Ça ne résonne pas / Ça résonne trop (after its study presented last year for the first edition of Powered By REf), a dialogue between two identities and a confrontation with nature, the environmental crisis, and the constant sense of catastrophe the new generations seem to live with, while, in the same days, Camilla Brison and Tatjana Motta present Notte Bianca, a path of initiation through the encounter with the unknown, with the Stranger, with the Other, with a night party in which to get lost and become something else. But Anni Luce is also a space and a time dedicated to experimentation and confrontation with the public outside usual production schemes. That’s why Valeria Wandja with Yonas Aregay and Giulia Odetto will offer viewers a first glimpse of their artistic research, part of the training, tutoring and paid residency path of the Powered By REf project.
Situazione Drammatica is a format created by Tindaro Granata and dedicated to new dramaturgy and writing, which on the 30th of September and 1st of October will focus on the prestigious Hystrio Prize with the reading of the texts Amore Storto by Christian Di Furia, winner of the 2021 edition, and Anna by Tommaso Fermariello, a text selected by Situazione Drammatica. The format is completed by the talks organized in collaboration with Rai Radio 3 and hosted by Antonio Audino and Tindaro Granata. On October 3rd, the journey of Anni Luce ends with the performance 12 reasons, a multimedia project between music, live performance and digital video signed by Francesco Leineri.
An ideal bridge connects Anni Luce with LINE UP!, the new review (curated by Giulia Di Giovanni and Matteo Antonaci) which brings some of the most interesting proposals from the Italian pop, urban and songwriting scene to the Auditorium Parco della Musica. An entirely female line up starring Rachele Bastreghi with the grand finale of her first solo tour with the album PSYCHODONNA; the DJ, Producer and chanteuse of Brazilian origins based in Milan Emmanuelle, with her light-hearted and sensual Italo Disco; Boyrebecca, with her provocative reggaeton capable of challenging the male stereotypes of the genre; the Roman Ditonellapiaga, with her multiple personalities capable of ranging from rap to pop music and own jazz and soul music; LA NIÑA, with her urban sounds that find their roots in the Neapolitan tradition, protagonist of a special set for ropes and rattles; Bluem, a very young producer living in London with her sophisticated and international pop that looks to the Sardinian tradition (her song Venerdì was recently chosen by Antonio Marras for the presentation of his latest collection); finally, Margherita Vicario, with a special project created for the Romaeuropa Festival 2021 entitled Cosa vuoi che ne capiscano son bambini! dedicated to girls and boys aged 7 and over and their families. A show made of songs (from the artist’s albums) played together with the young audience, of stories and other surprises.
