Wabi-Sabi / Reva

Trained at the Ailey School and then with Hofesh Shechter and the Batsheva Dance Company, Sofia Nappi has performed all over the world before her return to Italy, her native land, where she founded the KOMOCO project.
Currently an artist associated with the historic Sosta Palmizi, the choreographer builds two pieces with Wabi-Sabi and Reva focused on accepting the transience of things and on searching for beauty in the imperfect, ephemeral and incomplete nature of our worldview. Having earned a Special Mention at the Theodor Rawyler Prize 2020 with their fusion of Gaga technique and the original skills and compositions of the choreographer, Wabi-Sabi and Reva propose a reflection on our existence as individuals in constant dissatisfaction and in different moments of torment that characterize the human existence, a path towards accepting the essence of our nature and the beauty that can be found in imperfection – towards new growth, renewal and joy.
