TRIPLE BILL: DNAeurope meets AEROWAVES
TRIBLE BILL SINGLE TICKET WITH IGOR AND MORENO + LIAT WAYSBORT
The last of the shows selected by Aerowaves to be presented at DNAworld this year is ‘Conditions of Being a Mortal, movement I. movement III’, a funny and bold experiment by Hungarian choreographer Adrienn Hód and the dancers of her company, Hodworks. This new production results from Adrienn Hód’s composition technique and working method, both based on improvisation. She usually separates the moving body from any cultural context, and she places it in an empty space where she produces sensitive situations, thus generating a chain of emotions – the subconscious opens in a trance invoked by continuous movement. Through a multicolored tangle of torn clothes and half-naked bodies, the four dancers tell their most private stories. In a negotiation between heaven and earth, pointe shoes and bare feet, they celebrate a triumph over prosaic urban reality. They stage a parody of styles that are travesties of the clichés of opera and theatre (movement I.), and the mannerism of classical ballet (movement III.) The bodies challenge taboos and seem to explode between splinters of sexuality, arias of impulsive gasps, in a game of robust yet refined and sensitive humor.
