From vibration to music, gibberish to singing, just as the sound of the mother’s voice resonates in her child, a dancer and musician are discovering in each other the resonance of their voices.
They move together in a sound rich dance that makes the young audience vibrate.
Bio
Founder of Dadodans, choreographer Gaia Gonnelli, creates associative, intimate and multidisciplinary dance performances for young children (2 till 8 years old) and their parents. With very young children as target Gaia Gonnelli stands out in the current field of dance. Her work combines dance, theatre, live music as well as other art disciplines. Her interest lies in creating work that encourages children to use their own imagination. Working with materials and primary elements (shapes, colours and sounds) plays an important role in all Dadodans’ performances. Dadodans was founded in 2014 by Gaia Gonnelli and the company is based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Gaia’s productions have proven to be highly successful both in the Netherlands and abroad. Her work has been performed at festivals in Italy, Turkey, Germany, Poland, Spain, Romania, Finland, UK, China and France. The company is also available to organise workshops with children (and parents), related to the performance itself and more. In addition, Dadodans develops educational projects for primary schools, that may or may not be associated with a performance. Finally, Dadodans develops special workshops for (dance) educators that work with young children.
