Fino al 29 ottobre gli spazi del Mattatoio ospitano Anni Luce, la rassegna a cura di Maura Teofili che disegna i territori del futuro teatrale italiano scommettendo sul sostegno e la creatività under 30 con i progetti finalisti di Powered by REF. Si affiancano agli spettacoli teatrali anche gli appuntamenti di Ghost Track, il progetto del Romaeuropa Festival dedicato alle autorialità poliedriche e ai nuovi formati della parola e della scena; una sezione che indaga comicità, poesia, approfondimento tematico ed incursioni musicali in un nuovo spazio intimo, originale ed informale all’interno della Galleria delle Vasche della Pelanda.

Il primo debutto di Greta Tommesani al Romaeuropa Festival avviene nel 2022 all’interno della selezione di Powered by REF. Tagliente, ironico, sospeso tra scrittura scenica, drammaturgia e stand-up, il primo studio di CA-NI-CI-NI-CA conquista immediatamente il pubblico con la sua capacità di mescolare la leggerezza del suo sguardo ad una profonda riflessione politica legata allo sfruttamento nel mondo del lavoro.

Classe 1995, Giovanni Onorato ha costruito il suo percorso artistico intorno ad una scrittura scenica e drammaturgica capace di coniugare poesia e ironia, facendo propri i linguaggi performativi incontrati durante la sua formazione. Selezionato da Biennale College 2022, A.L.D.E è una ricerca intorno al medium della slam-poetry, inserita però in una cornice narrativa.

EVENTO SOLD OUT
Un venerdì per indugiare sui piccoli fastidi quotidiani nel rapporto con noi stessi: nevrosi, aspettative, progetti che si rivelano pasticci, ma anche sogni, perché a volte una pessima intenzione porta incredibili e inaspettati frutti. Una serata in cui ci faremo guidare dalla forza straordinaria delle parole di Mattia Torre, autore che ha aperto immaginari esilaranti e poetici, feroci e profondamente umani fotografando le pieghe e gli anfratti, appunto, in cui si nascondono le nostre fragilità. Il tutto impreziosito dalla lettura di Valerio Aprea e Cristina Pellegrino suoi amici e attori storici, ospiti speciali di questo appuntamento. Poi sempre negli stessi interstizi prepotenti guarderemo assieme a Filippo Balestra, poeta, che come tutti i poeti la sa lunga e la canta ancora meglio.

Tutti gli spunti del presente e solo noi a fronteggiarli. Se ne hai abbastanza di doverti districare nel labirinto dei segni dell’oggi in completa solitudine forse è il caso di farlo insieme e di farlo in tanti. Passeremo in rassegna, trame, film, canzoni, marketing ed esistenza. Mescoleremo presente e passato insieme al Roma Rainbow Choir diretto dal M° Francesco Leineri nel cui repertorio convivono tradizione polifonica antica e moderna, facendo della materia del passato un classico del presente. Quanti sono i linguaggi del contemporaneo e come si legge un meme? Ce lo spiegherà Alessandro Lolli, scrittore e studioso di new media, intervistato dal poeta, attore e autore Lorenzo Maragoni Come parla il presente e soprattutto: cosa vuole da noi? A tutte queste domande dobbiamo rispondere? Avremo mai pace? La risposta è no, no e ancora no.

A vivere si inciampa nel prossimo. A volte un problema, a volte una rivelazione. La domenica la gente litiga, come dice bene Giovanni Truppi in una sua nota canzone. Ci sembrava talmente vero che abbiamo fatto di tutto per averlo come ospite d’onore e rubargli il titolo per il nostro gran finale. Cercheremo insieme di andare in fondo alla domanda sul rapporto col prossimo e di pensare anche una comunità, possibilmente non belligerante, ma non per questo meno sconclusionata. Attraverseremo parole d’amore e litigi vari, accanimenti di coppia e non, piccole ossessioni e lasciamenti, disperazioni per piccole cose e piccole cose disperanti. Tutto quello che c’è tra noi e gli altri senza naturalmente trovare alcuna risposta. Insieme a noi Daniele Parisi, attore e autore.

Ahmen è un giovane immigrato del Punjab, impegnato a trovare il modo di far arrivare la moglie in Italia. Lo vediamo immerso nella sua routine quotidiana all’interno di un singolare autolavaggio, costretto a pulire a fondo lo sporco del primo mondo per potervi entrare, tra personaggi come Fatima, la moglie lontana, Fabrizio, il suo ex datore di lavoro dal quale si è misteriosamente allontanato, e Mirta la sua mucca parlante. Acqua, latte e oggetti sporchi da lavare. Attraverso questa cornice di simboli e metafore vogliamo esplorare i confini interiori che dividono i personaggi, sviscerando la loro intimità deprivata di sovrastrutture, così da permettere allo spettatore di condividere l’esperienza emotiva del protagonista.

Concerto fetido su quattro zampe

Sul pavimento, una moquette elegante a quadri, le luci soffuse, una finestra che dà sul mondo. Inizia lo spettacolo. Due cani sono stati lasciati in casa. La casa non è proprio una casa. C’è una batteria, due aste e due microfoni. I cani cominciano a cantare. Il lamento diventa un concerto e la casa un palco. Il ragionamento dei due uomini – animali rimbalza continuamente fra due poli: uomini che fanno vite da cani e cani educati come uomini. In questo ibrido palco salotto non ci sono oggetti superflui. La scena è pulita. Ci sono solo delle maschere. Da cani prima. Da uomini poi.

La traiettoria calante

La Traiettoria Calante è il racconto di una linea che si spezza, come si spezzano le linee e le curve disegnate su carta. Il problema si pone quando a calare sono traiettorie in calcestruzzo armato e acciaio, alte 90 metri e lunghe più di un chilometro. Il 14 agosto 2018, a Genova, crolla la linea più importante della città, portando con sé, seppellendo sotto le macerie, le traiettorie personali di 43 persone che, cadute, non potranno più rialzarsi.
Anni Luce 2023: The Future of Italian Theater on stage at the Mattatoio
Until October 29, the spaces of the Mattatoio host Anni Luce, the review curated by Maura Teofili that draws the territories of the Italian theatrical future by betting on support and creativity under 30 with the finalist projects of Powered by REF. Alongside the theater performances are also the appointments of Ghost Track, the Romaeuropa Festival project dedicated to multifaceted authorship and new formats of the word and the scene, a section that investigates comedy, poetry, thematic insight, and musical forays in a new intimate, original and informal space within the Pelanda’s Vasche Gallery.

Greta Tommesani’s first debut at the Romaeuropa Festival occurred in 2022 with the selection of Powered by REF. Sharp, ironic, suspended between stage writing, dramaturgy, and stand-up, the first study of CA-NI-CI-NI-CA immediately conquers the audience with its ability to mix the lightness of its look with a deep political reflection related to exploitation in the world of work.

Born in 1995, Giovanni Onorato has built his artistic path around scenic and dramaturgical writing capable of combining poetry and irony, making the performance languages he encountered during his training his own. A Friday to linger on the minor daily annoyances in our relationship with ourselves: neuroses, expectations, projects that turn out to be messes and dreams because sometimes a lousy intention brings incredible and unexpected fruits. It is an evening in which we will be guided by the extraordinary strength of the words of Mattia Torre, an author who has opened up hilarious and poetic, fierce and profoundly human imagery by photographing the folds and crevices, precisely, in which our frailties are hidden. All are enhanced by the reading of Valerio Aprea and Cristina Pellegrino, his friends and historical actors, and special event guests. Then, always in the same overbearing crevices, we will look together at Filippo Balestra, a poet who, like all poets, knows it all and sings it even better.

All the cues of the present and only us to face them. Suppose you’ve had enough of untangling the labyrinth of today’s signs in complete solitude. In that case, it’s time to do it together and do it in numbers. We will review plots, movies, songs, marketing, and existence. We will mix present and past with the Roma Rainbow Choir, directed by Maestro Francesco Leineri, in whose repertoire ancient and modern polyphonic traditions coexist, making the matter of the past a classic of the present. How many contemporary languages are there, and how do we read a meme? Alessandro Lolli, writer, and new media scholar, will explain it to us, interviewed by poet, actor, and author Lorenzo Maragoni. How does the present speak, and above all, what does it want from us? Do we have to answer all these questions? Will we ever have peace? The answer is no, no, and still no.

In living, you stumble upon your neighbor. Sometimes a problem, sometimes a revelation. On Sundays, people fight, as Giovanni Truppi aptly put it in one of his well-known songs. It seemed so genuine that we went out of our way to have him as our guest of honor and steal his title for our grand finale. We will try together to get to the bottom of our relationship with our neighbor and also think of a community, possibly non-belligerent but no less rambunctious. We will go through words of love and various quarrels, couples’ and noncouple’s fights, little obsessions and breakups, despair over little things, and despairing little things. Everything between us and others without, of course, finding any answers. Together with us, Daniele Parisi, actor and author.

Ahmen is a young immigrant from Punjab, busy trying to find a way to get his wife to Italy. We see him immersed in his daily routine inside a singular car wash, forced to thoroughly clean the dirt of the first world to enter it, amid characters such as Fatima, his estranged wife; Fabrizio, his former employer from whom he has mysteriously estranged himself; and Mirta his talking cow. Water, milk, and dirty objects to be washed. Through this framework of symbols and metaphors, we want to explore the inner boundaries that divide the characters, eviscerating their intimacy deprived of superstructures to allow the viewer to share the emotional experience of the protagonist.

On the floor, elegant plaid carpeting, the lights dimmed, a window overlooking the world. The show begins. Two dogs have been left in the house. The house is not really a house. There is a drum set, two rods, and two microphones. The dogs begin to sing. The wailing becomes a concert and the house a stage. The reasoning of the two man-animals continually bounces between two poles: men making lives as dogs and dogs being educated as men. In this hybrid living room stage, there are no superfluous objects. The scene is clean. There are only masks. As dogs first. As men later.

The Waning Trajectory is a tale of a line breaking, as lines and curves drawn on paper break. The problem arises when trajectories made of reinforced concrete and steel, 90 meters high and more than a kilometer long, are the ones that fall. On August 14, 2018, in Genoa, the city’s most important line collapsed, taking with it, burying under the rubble the personal trajectories of 43 people who, having fallen, will never be able to get up again.
